Looking at the planning part of the lesson, we didn’t plan a lot of activities, but enough to get through the class as well as go overtime. As this was the first time with the class, I wasn’t fully certain of what to expect. We kept our lesson simple as well as planning for engagement from the class.
As our sponsor teacher had already prepared some material for the content of our lesson, we used that as a basis for our discussion portion of the lesson. Looking back, there was technology that we could have utilized but didn’t and is something to consider for any future lessons.
As we chose to read through the story, we did stop at the end of each paragraph, or few lines in the case of quick dialogue in the story and had the students ask any questions on vocabulary that they might have.
